Windshield wiper
blades are the blades that are on your windshield wipers.
They usually are
made from a rubber/plastic like material, and are made for the specific purpose of wiping rain
water off of your windshield.
Windshield wipers
are not only essential for your safety, but they are also very convenient.
There is nothing
worse than having it rain, and not being able to get the water off of your windshield when you turn
on the wipers.
Have you ever had this happen? Well,
that is probably because the blades were bad. Windshield wipers are pretty standard pieces of equipment on your car
that last a long time, but windshield wiper blades are pieces of these wipers that need replacement every so
often.
How often depends on what kind you
buy, and on how often you use them. If you use them a lot (perhaps you live in the Pacific Northwest of the United
States?), then they might need to be changed a bit more frequently.
Also, using them on a dry windshield
can really break them down. If you do this a lot, then you will probably end up needing to change your windshield
wiper blades more often.
Basically, a windshield wiper blade
is like a rubber blade that pushes water off of your windshield. When it rains, this is what keeps the water from
pooling up on your windshield and hampering visibility. The blades also help to wash off the
windshield when dirt has accumalated, and you spray washer fluid via the windshield washer nozzles.
Having your vision encumbered by
water (or dirt) on your windshield is a pretty dangerous thing, especially if the rain in very
heavy.
Sometimes, rain can also complicate
driving in the way that it can cause weird, bright reflections. These reflections can be caused by oncoming
headlights, and are very dangerous unless you have good windshield wiper blades in place to get rid of the
water.
